Vague House

The building was designed for a pair of artists as their main home and from the first meeting it was decided that the house should be as abstract and anonymous as possible.  The name Vague house is the ideal expression of this concept as the home turns inward and presents only a blank hovering mass to the street side of the property.  Some of the interior spaces are also vague as they defy an easy classification for function and use.  The best example of this is the concrete ‘obelisk’ that forms the center of the entry stairs.
